Serenity now!

One of the things we're quickly learning is that home improvement can get out of hand REALLY quickly. Right now for example we've got big messy projects going on in the kitchen, mudroom, guest room, master bathroom, living and dining rooms. Basically the house looks like it was chosen by North Korea as a nuke testing facility. And the nukes won.

To maintain a bit of sanity (and oh how quickly sanity packs its bags and heads for the nearest Hampton Inn where it's safe and clean and they have free breakfast that isn't coated with a fine layer of joint compound) we decided to make the master bedroom a priority. At least there we can close the door and pretend it's safe to walk barefoot around our house. (it's not, by the way)

Here's the before:

And here's what it looked like the first night we spent in it:

Nothing says romance like his and hers air mattresses, yes?

And this is what it looks like now:

It's not quite finished but at least it's comfortable and liveable.

And I don't even have to wear a respirator or safety goggles while I sleep. Bonus!
