Changing out drawer pulls...

You've seen it on all the home improvement shows - changing out cabinet hardware really makes a difference and doesn't have to cost a ton.

Target and Lowes have a great selection of knobs and handles. All it takes is a few minutes and a screw driver. You DO have a screw driver, right? Ladies, I'm talking to you here - even if you outsource your home repair you should at LEAST have two screw drivers - one phillips one flat head. Here's the set I covet:

Buy it and get with the program.

Anywho, back to the drawer pulls. Check out the difference on the kitchen cabinets - and keep in mind that this was a cheap 10-pack from Lowes. (we're going to remodel the kitchen soon so we didn't want to invest too much):

Much better, yes? I suppose the white pulls went with the French country/toile thing. But we've moved on and now so have our cabinets.

And look at what a $5 fixture and a fresh coat of white paint did for the ironing board:

Now it doesn't look like a relic from Nana's house.

The point is not all remodeling requires hundreds or thousands of dollars. Small touches can change the feel of the space.

And thank god for that. This Money Pit is sucking us dry!
